This first edition, limited mug was crafted in honor of Flora Komes, Wilfred’s big sister and our family’s matriarch and muse, and is a tribute to our family heritage.
Many moons ago, Flora left Hawaii and voyaged to the mainland. While Wilfred was home in Honolulu, welcoming guests to his bar where the drinks were strong, the company was charming, and there was always “just one more” story to tell, Flora found a Spring and cultivated some very special wines in St. Helena, Napa Valley. Over 40 years later, Flora Springs Winery continues as our family winery today.
Flora always described her life as beautiful, and so it was. There is an old saying in Hawaii, I ulu no ka lala i ke kumu which means, the reach of a tree’s branches depends on its trunk. Throughout her long and extraordinary life, Flora’s unconditional love and steadfast optimism for life’s promise and possibilities touched all who knew her. Her generous spirit and love for all living things will always be felt.
This hand-crafted original design was created by Wilfred’s Lounge Proprietor, tiki enthusiast, Wilfred’s nephew & Flora’s grandson Nat Komes, and commissioned from the world-famous Tiki Farm.
Our Flora’s Hula Mug – Blue features a depiction of Flora as a young woman in Hawaii in the 1920s on the front with our Wilfred’s Lounge logo and Napa, Ca. on the back molded into the ceramic design. Finished in an alluring opalescent glaze with shades of aquamarine and highlights of natural clay color. Highest-quality, solid craftsmanship.
This is the partner to our signature mug, Wilfred’s Own, and is a must-have for the tiki enthusiast to celebrate Napa’s first and only tiki bar and restaurant. Sister Flora and brother Wilfred together again!
